Sunday School - Week 9
Welcome to another reading from "Growing in God's Love." We have two readings this week: Ruth 1:19b-21, 2:1-23 and Ruth 4:1-17.
Ruth 1:19b-21, 2:1-23 "Ruth and Naomi's New Life in Bethlehem".
Hear: How do you think the man in charge of the field heard about Ruth the Moabite?
See: Imagine leaning over and picking up grain all day. What would you see?
Act: Allowing hungry people to gather grain was the way to feed them in Bible times. It's called gleaning. How do we help hungry people today? How can you and your family help?
Ruth 4:1-17 "Naomi's New Family"
Hear: What do you think the women in Bethlehem said when they heard that Naomi had a grandson?
See: Imagine Naomi holding baby Obed. What might she sing or say to him?
Act: Do any of your friends have babies in their families? What could you do to welcome the baby? If you like, you can write a letter to a baby recently baptized or dedicated at a church.

Sunday School - Week 8
Hello everyone!
This week, we are reading two stories. The first is from the Book of Judges, and it is about Deborah. The second story is about Ruth, from her book. "Deborah, a Wise Prophet" comes from Judges 4:1-16, 5:3, 31. The questions are: Hear: God spoke to Deborah often. What does it sound like when God talks to you? See: Who is a wise woman in today's world? Why do you think she is wise? Act: Deborah helped people when they came to her with ahrd decisions. How would you help someone making a hard decision?
The second story is called, "Leaving Moab" from Ruth 1:1-19a. The questions are: Hear: What did Naomi hear in Ruth's words that made her sure that Ruth wouldn't change her mind? See: Ruth had never been away from Moab. What do you think she saw on the way to Bethlehem? How do yout hink she felt when they got to Bethlehem? Act: When people move to your school, church, or neighborhood, how can you help them feel at home?

Sunday School - Week 7
Good morning, everyone!
This week, we are reading two more stories from the "Growing in God's Love" story Bible. First, we look at a story called, "March, Make Music, and Shout" from Joshua 6:1-21. The questions are: Hear: Listen to the sounds in this story. The sounds of people marching, trumpets blowing. The sounds of shouting and walls falling. What a noise that must have been! See: How do you think the Israelites felt when they saw the big wall around the city of Jericho? Act: The Israelites might have left when they saw the walls around Jericho. But they followed God's directions and won the city. When have you thought something was too hard to do? Who helped you?
Our second story is called, "Remember, Choose, Serve" from Joshua 24:1-24. The questions are: Hear: What did you learn about God from Joshua's speech to the people? See: Look around you again and think about your family? How has God been with you? Ask family members this question too. Act: How can you and your family worship and serve God today?

Hello everyone! This is our second video for Sunday School! And we are continuing with the Strong Women and Men of the Old Testament. Last week, we heard about God promise Sarah and Abraham that they would have a child. Then, we heard about God calling Abraham to do the impossible. Finally, we heard about Isaac meeting his wife, Rebekah. This week, we hear two more stories. They both involve one of Rebekah's and Isaac's son, Jacob. First, we will hear about a dream Jacob had one night. Then, we will see how Jacob met his wives, Rachel and Leah. After you talk about the questions at the end, feel free to share them with me through email, - Rev. Chris
